1st XI
The game itself was reduced to 30 overs due to a wet outfield. Batting
first Bristol reached
180 for the loss of 8 wickets. 2 wickets a piece for Nick Trainor,
Richard Cave and Mark Hardinges.
with a solitary wicket each for Cavan Ditchman and Ashley Davis.
Frocester's reply stuttered to say the least with the first 4 batsmen
only making 27 between them
of which Adam Robson claimed 21 of those. Who else but Nick
Trainor steadied the ship
with another top score, this time 77 runs. Alas nobody was able to match
that feat and a collapse of Pakistani proportions saw the team finish 49
runs short on 131 all out after 26.4 overs.

2nd
XI

On a
bright, sunny yet somewhat chilly at times day the final league
game
of this campaign began. Batting first Frocester made a slow start. The
normally high scoring
George Bailey was out for a duck, which allowed Ali Bray to make his way
out to the crease.
He too struggled to make any headway. The loss of Tom Wand for 8 brought
Tom Ellis out to partner Ali.
Regrettably Tom was out for 4 after facing just 6 balls. 'Doorsy'
however stubbornly stuck in there
slowly trying to build up some momentum. It took 56 balls for Ali to
score his 16 runs before his wicket fell
Sam Birch notched up 15 runs off 36 balls but it was experienced Sam
Evans who made the biggest
impact dragging Frocester back into the contest with a fine 54. there
was an added contribution from
Liam O'Doherty with 13 runs. However after the 45 overs Frocester
finished with 158 for 8.
Most
people watching were thinking that surely was not enough on a Frocester
track that
has seen so many runs scored this season. But Keynsham experienced the
same problems as
Frocester did earlier by not being able to take control and dictate the
game.
Some fine bowling mixed up with some unwanted extras, no balls and wides,
made for a tense game.
The Frocester attack kept plugging away never allowing any Keynsham
batsmen to settle.
Lewi Towell was rewarded for his hard work with 4 wickets for 49 runs
off his 10 overs.
Sam Birch who bowled at the death claimed a wicket but it was Tom Furley
who claimed top
honours with a 5 wicket haul. Finishing with figures of 5 for 38 off 13
overs.
It is worth noting as well that Sam Evans took 3 catches and a stumping
behind the wicket today.

Tom Furley - 5
wickets
Sam Evans - 54 runs

3rd
XI
The 3rd's narrowly beat Shurdington by 3 wickets in the end.
Shurdington were 109 all out after 45 overs. Frocester almost managed to
snatch
defeat from the jaws of victory by finishing on 112 for 7 off 45 overs.
Apologies but no more details are currently available.

4th
XI
The 4th's lost by 60 runs away at Slimbridge fielding a very youthful
team.
Having to field three teams on Beer Festival Saturday allowed a young
Frocester XI to take to
the field at Slimbridge. Batting first Slimbridge scored 178 runs for
the loss of 4 wickets after
40 overs. there was a wicket apiece for Josh Roberts, Tom Birch, Dan
Whincup and Joe Stevens.
In reply 7 batsmen reached double figures with Callum Gegg top scoring
with 19, closely
followed by Josh Roberts who was not out on 18.
Eventually Frocester were all out for 118 off 38.1 overs.
The future is very bright indeed for the club with these boys showing
they can already hold
their own at this senior level.
